Problem

• World's second largest tower company with 160,000 tower under management
• Collect critical operational parameters from each site to monitor health and performance of power equipment
• IOT gateway had to interface with multiple devices on RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet and WiFi ports
• System had to support over 15 different makes and models of equipment

Solution

• Built the custom IOT solution that handled the complex project requirements
• Designed and built the IOT hardware (Universal Modem) and successfully interfaced it with multiple equipment
• Built a cloud manager to remotely manage and configure the IOT devices and perform over-the-air updates
• Deployed the IOT modem in multiple circles with Cloud connectivity

Result

• Indus got real-time status of all equipment installed at the remote towers
• Data was analysed to identify faults and perform audits
• Operational cost of maintaining the sites by over 50%
• Bidirectional communication allowed to configure equipments remotely
